Joanna trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama in Acting and Musical Theatre.

Theatre includes: Emily in Zombies: The Musical and Eulpha Miziam in Confessions (The Other Palace); Mary in The Life (Southwark Playhouse) directed by Michael Blakemore; understudied and played Carole King in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical (Aldwych Theatre); Margaret in Fings Ain’t Wot They Used T’Be (Theatre Royal Stratford East) directed by Terry Johnson; u/s Beth/Meg/ KT in Merrily We Roll Along (Menier Chocolate Factory and Harold Pinter Theatre) directed by Maria Friedman; Tinker Bell in Lost Boy (Finborough Theatre and Charing Cross Theatre); Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors (Kilworth House Theatre); Princess in Sleeping Beauty and Puss in Boots (Newbury Corn Exchange); Kimberley in Pages: Promised Land (Union Theatre); Glauke in Medea; Princess Atlanta in The Adventures of Jason and the Argonauts (Scoop Amphitheatre).

Other credits include: Mum’s The Word (Crazy Coqs); Carole King in Concert (BST, Hyde Park) and Lead Singer in The Drowned Man: A Hollywood Fable (Punchdrunk/National Theatre). As ‘Coco DuBois’, acclaimed burlesque compere and singer, credits include: headlining The Wam Bam Club (Royal Albert Hall), An Evening of Burlesque (National and Italian Tour) and The Hurly Burly Show (Duchess Theatre).
